We decided to start at the bottom and work our way up. The basement was full of bricks. Before I knew the facility was a power plant, I theorized it might have been a brick factory. The bricks were "fire-bricks", used to line the furnaces and smokestacks. According to the previously linked developer's website, the plant had more than 1,500,000 of these. |

There is a lot of metal down there, and it is all very corroded. The pictures bear an eery similarity to underwater pictures of shipwrecks like the Titanic. A fortune in obsolete, forgotten machinery rusts away into nothing. | |
